A recent concluded short vacation in southern Thailand went exactly as hoped , thanks to the buzzing environment and nice stay, a escape from the busy life which came at a right time giving rejuvenation. There was plenty of relaxing, and we most certainly embraced everything that the luxury resorts we stayed with had to offer, but the feel-good factor also came from the delicious plant based food that we enjoyed, and the planet friendly initiatives that were clear to see. With the global hospitality industry having such a huge impact on the environment and our planet, it’s essential that they are making moves to lessen that impact and operate more sustainably. One of the ways to make a difference is through the food that they serve, with sourcing, food waste and ingredients needing to be scrutinised to ensure that sustainability goals are reached. Both of the JW Marriott resorts in southern Thailand have increased the plant based and vegan food available on their menus which has multiple positive impacts, whilst it was also interesting and inspiring to learn about other sustainability initiatives they have introduced, and their plans for the future.
Pacific Club Resort
Our first stop was Pacific Club resort, situated at the hill top this resort provides spectacular views surrounded by natural beauty. It gives a wonderful beachfront location as only 10-15 min walk from Karon Beach, 12min drive to Patong beach and 5 min drive to Kata beach. Being just around an hour from Phuket International Airport makes it an excellent choice for those who wish to enjoy their vacation at a resort that is remote enough to enjoy a generous slice of secluded escapism, yet close enough to the airport to allow swift and seamless transfers.
Rooms– it’s not a huge resort. There are only 40 rooms, so it’s not crowded at the pool, or the gym, or the sauna.. a lot of facilities for a resort of this size including private balcony, free Wifi connections.
